For those who stuck it out, a great fireworks display provided an exciting end to the evening. We raffled off some Phillies merchandise, and here are the winners...

On Friday September 16, 2011, we were blessed with a beautiful late-summer day for our Annual Family

Picnic at Laurel Run Park in Muhlenberg Township. After we enjoyed our traditional lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs,

walking tacos, and a variety of wonderful desserts, we enjoyed a sing-a-long

with Cindy Long and a game of bingo.

Thanks to all who contributed to this enjoyable Dayspring Event!

On Friday and Saturday October 21 & 22, 2011, we continued the celebration of Dayspring’s 20th Anniversary with a Mind-Body-Spirit Retreat at Maria Wald Retreat Center in Mohnton, PA. On Friday night, participants, families and staff enjoyed a covered dish social hour that was followed by a rousing sing-a-long which included many childhood favorites! Bobby Krize, Jennifer Loftus, and Harry Prutzman lent their musical talents which made the campfire a memorable one. The evening was capped off with popcorn and a trip to the "Emerald City"

On Saturday, we started the day with a light breakfast and the inspirational words of Dr. Jim Huber, who facilitated a session on "Five Ways to Use Your Mind to Lose Your Stress". We were then joined by Mark Seaman and Kate Stufflet from Earth Rhythms, who lead an exciting and energizing drum circle. After lunch, we wound up the Retreat with Craig Schollenberger who tied together our "Mind-Body-Spirit" theme with activities designed to help us increase our awareness of "being in the moment".

In addition to Dr. Huber, Mark, Kate, Craig, Harry, Jennifer, and Bobby, we would like to thank George and Barbara Rough, Jennifer Burkhart-Dotterrer, Sharon Bennett, Ana Sulivera, Corinne Woods, Dwayne Albright, Diane Rice, and Sarah Brojack for their assistance throughout the Retreat!

Saturday's guest presenters, (L - R) Craig, Dr. Huber, Kate, & Mark!

Over 20 energetic hikers took to the trails on a beautiful brisk autumn day. We enjoyed clear blue skies and fresh air as we celebrated Dayspring's 20th Anniversary with the final outdoor event of the year. After some circus-quality entertainment from the "Wonder Terrier", the day was completed with an excellent lunch at Trooper Thorn's Irish Beef House.

A special thank you to Jackie, Kacie, Bobby & Thomas for the after-hike nourishment!
